At Best Career Links our goal is to help you find, and enter the BEST CAREER for you!!

If you already know what type of career you're looking for, then you're ready to find a job that will help you attain your career goals. Remember, a particular "job" doesn't necessarily have to be your career.  Webster's Dictionary defines career as "a profession for which one trains and which is undertaken as a permanent calling ". While many people refer to their 'career' as a record of their past jobs or educational achievements, we're going to refer to 'career' as a future pursuit, and something that you can design, develop and achieve. When trying to determine what career to have, you should ask yourself some of the following questions:

  1. What do I enjoy doing?
  2. What are my skills (both technical and personal)?
  3. What are my educational accomplishments?
  4. What type of job will bring me the most personal satisfaction?
  5. How much money do I need to make to have a comfortable lifestyle?
  6. What type of job will allow me to still "have a life" and enjoy the fruits of my labor?

Once you've come up with some answers to these questions, start researching different jobs and occupations. Our Career Development and Research Tools will help you research and determine careers that might be right for you. You may not be able to immediately start in your chosen profession, or you may have to "work your way up" to that position, but the main thing is to get started! You can also investigate the industries in certain areas and if they're growing or failing.

A new college degree or certification can help increase your job skills, improve your qualifications and resume, and advance your career. Whether you're just entering the job force, or trying to advance your career, a new degree or certification will help you qualify for more jobs, or for higher positions (and salaries) in your current career. Career advancement is up to you!!
